Job Title: Compliance Officer

Location: Lancaster, SC

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at Founders Federal Credit Union. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing compliance guidance and ensuring that all laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to the Credit Union are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret Laws and Regulations: Provide compliance guidance on new laws, regulations, and guidelines affecting the Credit Union.
  2. Compliance Program Management: Maintain and oversee the Credit Union's compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  3. Leadership and Teamwork: Manage the responsibilities of the AVP – Compliance and Compliance Analyst to ensure specific job functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Litigation Support: Assist the Chief Legal Counsel and the SVP – Legal with litigation, investigations, and complaints.
  5. Contract Review: Review and evaluate existing and potential contracts with third parties.
  6. Marketing Compliance: Oversee reviews of marketing materials to ensure advertisements and promotions comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  7. New Product Development: Work closely with business owners to ensure new products and services adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Presentation and Communication: Present complex compliance requirements and guidance to all levels of Management.
  9. Examination Support: Collaborate with federal examiners and internal/external auditors during examinations to address compliance issues.
  10. Training and Development: Provide training to staff and management in areas of legal and compliance as needed.
  11. Ongoing Compliance: Comply with Founders' policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies.

Requirements:

  • Degree and Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a compliance-related field with management experience. A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Certifications: Possession of a law degree is desirable but not required.
  • Skillset: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work independently, high level of integrity, strong adherence to confidentiality, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge Base: Extensive working knowledge of the Credit Union's policies and procedures, as well as in-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to Truth in Lending Act, Truth in Savings, RESPA, BSA, Fair Lending Laws (ECOA, FHA & HMDA), FCRA, SAFE Act, and other applicable federal and state laws.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per annum based on location and industry standards.
