About the Role

VitalCore Health Strategies is a leading provider of correctional healthcare services, and we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Director / Physician to join our team.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall supervision of clinical services at one of our facilities in Shirley, MA.

We offer a highly competitive salary of $**220,000** per annum, plus an annual incentive payment.

Job Responsibilities

The Medical Director / Physician will serve as the responsible health authority required by national standards, providing overall supervision for clinical services at our facility. Key responsibilities include:

  • Consulting with medical providers in the community to resolve issues in delivering services to patients
  • Supervising the clinical services provided by professional and paraprofessional staff
  • Ensuring on-call services are provided
  • Reviewing and approving clinical protocols, policies, and procedures annually
  • Managing referrals to outside healthcare facilities for appropriateness, quality, and continuity of care
  • Sponsoring Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in compliance with state law for correctional facilities
  • Serving as a resource to all staff physicians and applicable clinical staff at the facility(s)
  • Assisting in screening, interviewing, evaluating credentials, and hiring healthcare providers
  • Participating in in-service training classes
  • Representing the healthcare program in discussions with local civic groups or visiting officials as requested
  • Attending medical, clinical, and other meetings as required
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited medical school
  • Fully licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment
  • Current DEA Registration
  • Preferred Board Certification
  • Fluency in the English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
  • Experience in sub-acute inpatient care and hospitalist experience
