Job Summary

The Salvation Army Eastern Territory is seeking a qualified Roller Enrichment Academy Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our Youth and Family Education department, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and educational program environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with our curriculum and meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide instruction and support to our tutors, lead academic instruction, and review student work products.
  • Lead academic instruction, provide intensive interventions, and support the development of our students.
  • Maintain accurate student records, notes, and observations, and provide progress reports as needed.
  • Administer pre-assessment and ongoing assessment tools, and provide feedback to students, teachers, and parents as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Elementary Education.
  • Experience working with urban youth and diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to ensure lessons are interactive and engaging.
  • Knowledge of cultural flexibility and competency in working with multicultural participants.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and strong organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
  • Clearance requirements as per PA Act 153, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
