Educational Program Facilitator

Position Overview
The Educational Program Facilitator is tasked with establishing a nurturing and enriching educational atmosphere by demonstrating expertise in the designated curriculum and effectively developing and executing lesson plans. This role involves supporting tutors, leading academic instruction, evaluating students' work, and providing targeted instruction and interventions as necessary.
The Facilitator will also guide Lead Facilitators, Tutors, and volunteers during the academic segments of the program to ensure that participants receive appropriate and strategic academic support. Responsibilities include providing clear guidance, overseeing academic instruction delivered by facilitators, tutors, and volunteers, and maintaining comprehensive student records, including notes and observations.
The program will cater to children enrolled in the PA STEAM Academy Charter School. The Facilitator will utilize various educational resources such as ARC, K-5 Math Teaching Resources, Great Minds, Engage NY Mathematics, and Eureka Mathematics during instructional periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer pre-assessments and ongoing assessments, as well as any necessary milestone testing.
- Collaborate with students, educators, and parents to establish specific achievement objectives and individualized learning plans when required.
- Provide timely feedback to the Site Director and offer positive reinforcement to students.
- Attend all training sessions and be open to learning additional curricula and implementing lessons.
Minimum Qualifications
- A degree in Education with certification in Elementary Education is required.
- Strict confidentiality is mandatory in all aspects of the role.
- Current experience in a classroom setting is essential.
- Ability to create interactive and engaging lessons.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills are necessary.
- Cultural competence and experience working with diverse populations, particularly urban youth, are required.
- Strong interpersonal communication and classroom management skills are essential.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- As a Mandated Reporter, proof of training in recognizing and reporting child abuse in accordance with PA Act 153 is necessary.
- Must meet the Child Protection Clearances mandated by PA Act 153, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check through the Department of Human Services.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to the Mission of The Salvation Army is essential.
