**The Role**

We are seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team in the Riverside Claim Litigation office. As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for supporting attorneys in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your duties will include calendaring and scheduling, processing mail and electronic filing, and interacting with clients, courts, and counsel throughout the litigation process on behalf of the attorney.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Applies specialized knowledge of legal procedures* Calendar management, processing mail, electronic filing (details vary by office location and structure)* Scheduling litigation events, including depositions, mediations, and hearings* Propounding discovery, preparing deposition notices, including non-retained and retained expert witnesses, filing motions and pleadings

**Requirements**

* Previous experience required: 1-7 years of recent civil defense litigation secretarial experience preferably in insurance defense or personal injury* Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements* Calendaring and scheduling experience within a legal environment* Strong organizational skills, prioritizing urgent and non-urgent tasks (items with deadlines, handling demands), multitasking* E-filing experience* Ability to adapt to a corporate law environment* Strong written and oral communication skills (proofreading, attention to detail, formatting)* Accurate typing skills needed* Technology/software experience required* Working knowledge of local court electronic filing systems* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe* Working knowledge of Case Management system* Working knowledge of Document Storage system

**Location**

The office is currently located in Riverside, CA, with plans to relocate to Ontario, CA in the first quarter of 2025. The hybrid model will apply at both locations.
