Job Summary:
- Support attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment, managing tasks such as calendaring, scheduling, and electronic filing.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure seamless case management and strategic thinking.
- Interact with clients, courts, and counsel throughout the litigation process on behalf of the attorney.
About the Role:
This hybrid role offers diversity of work and opportunities for development/advancement in a corporate law environment. You will have access to peer mentors and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Responsibilities:
- Apply specialized knowledge of legal procedures, including calendaring, processing mail, electronic filing, and scheduling litigation events.
- Propound discovery, prepare deposition notices, file motions and pleadings, and manage deadlines and filing requirements.
Requirements:
- 1-7 years of recent civil defense litigation secretarial experience preferably in insurance defense or personal injury.
- Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements.
- Calendaring and scheduling experience within a legal environment, strong organizational skills, prioritizing urgent and non-urgent tasks, multitasking, e-filing experience, and accurate typing skills.
- Working knowledge of local court electronic filing systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Case Management system, Document Storage system, and technology/software experience.
