Job Summary

The Judge Group is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Chemist to lead the development of new adhesive, sealant, coating, and foam products. This role requires a strong background in chemistry and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies for new product development, including experimental plans and collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Translate customer requirements and market insights into actionable product specifications and features.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of products and applications to guide the team and support project work.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry technical meetings to track technology trends and drive innovation.
  • Regularly review projects to address challenges and meet deadlines while maintaining project quality.
  • Foster continuous improvement and champion the use of Lean tools for consistent quality.
  • Provide engineering support and direction to Manufacturing on production issues and equipment layout.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures, including testing protocols and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer, or Material Science (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and action-oriented team player.
  • Successful track record of cross-functional collaboration in product development.
  • Product design experience, preferably related to construction applications (knowledge of polyurethane adhesive or coating is helpful).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in high-noise areas with appropriate hearing protection.
  • Skill in operating a motor vehicle while maintaining safe driving practices and avoiding distractions.
  • Physical capabilities include walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing, and occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds.
