The Role:
As an Usher or Ticket Taker, you will engage with guests to assist with their needs before, during, and after the show, ensuring safety and maintaining the cleanliness of the venue. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests, scanning tickets, answering questions, and alerting guests to venue policies as needed. You will also examine tickets for entry to various seat levels, assist guests with locating their seats, and help maintain clear aisles. Additionally, you will provide assistance to guests with special needs, examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, and assist in verifying staff credentials. You will also help resolve guest complaints or problems, direct guests to the appropriate department, and assist patrons by giving directions. In the event of an emergency, you will guide guests to exits and provide other instructions or assistance. You will partner with fellow crew members to close the venue at the end of the show, collecting and storing event equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 1+ year of experience in a guest service role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- An acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy is essential.
- The position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying 50 pounds or more, as well as occasional sitting in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
