Job Description

Job Title: Public Relations Director

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Director to lead our classical music promotions efforts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex publicity campaigns and building strong relationships with key journalists and media outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to promote classical music events and artists
  • Manage a team of public relations staff to achieve maximum publicity for Kennedy Center events and artists
  • Work closely with social media team to develop and produce organic social media content
  • Review and approve digital and printed program content for all classical programs
  • Assist with special events and award ceremonies

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of strategic public relations management experience
  • Demonstrated publicity results on a national level
  • Established relationships with key journalists and national media outlets
  • Bachelor's degree required; public relations or communications degree a plus
