Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join a leading company in the food and beverage industry. With a legacy spanning over 60 years, our company has been a driving force in contract and private-label packaging, known for turning culinary visions into reality.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Industrial Maintenance Technician. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and service on equipment and systems to maintain optimal performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and service on equipment and systems to maintain optimal performance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repairing industrial control circuits, motors, and PLCs.
  • Maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Responding to breakdowns and service calls, diagnosing faults, and repairing equipment promptly.
  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment, including electrical wiring and hydraulic, and plumbing.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all services, repairs, and inspections performed.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance in the food/beverage industry.
  • Proven experience in preventive maintenance, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical systems.
  • A strong understanding of electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and hydraulic testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults in complex machinery and equipment.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing your time effectively to respond to service calls promptly and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, with knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • A relevant trade qualification or an associate's degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related field would be advantageous.
