Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Genomic Testing Cooperative, LLC. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests to support patient care and research, utilizing various molecular techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines related to Next-Generation Sequencing and other molecular procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical laboratory tests to support patient care and research
  • Utilize various molecular techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines related to Next-Generation Sequencing and other molecular procedures
  • Perform laboratory quality control and assurance activities
  • Support data entry and reporting processes using the Laboratory Information System

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a natural science field with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • License in the state of CA as a CLS, CGMBS, or CCS
  • Experience with RNA and or DNA sequencing, extracting, and analysis for daily molecular testing
  • Experience performing molecular techniques related to Next Generation sequencing
  • Experience with NGS library preparation, hybridization, and sequencing
  • Experience ensuring and maintaining the integrity and quality of the laboratory in the areas of sample processing, equipment maintenance, and SOPs
  • Possesses appropriate computer skills with strong data entry skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Motivated to work independently and within a team environment
  • Willing to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve
  • Attention to detail and critical thinker

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with software, quality systems, and lab automation
  • Knowledgeable of molecular laboratory processes, techniques, and equipment (such as pipettes, thermocyclers, and liquid handlers)
