Based in Boston, Massachusetts, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team at National Experienced Workforce Solutions. This exciting opportunity allows you to utilize your expertise and experience to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through our grant-administered program.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in chemical safety and environmental protection. As a Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program participant, you will work alongside EPA staff to provide expert-level scientific support for Chemical Accident Prevention activities under Section 112 (r) of the Clean Air Act and General Duty, as well as the Chemical Emergency Preparedness & Prevention under the Emergency Planning & Community Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct enforcement inspections under EPCRA and CAA 112 (r), focusing on 50% of your time on this critical task.
  • Support enforcement case development by preparing documents, researching industry standards, collecting records, and maintaining inspection files.
  • Provide technical assistance and outreach for EPCRA and CAA 112 (r) programs, dedicating 10% of your time to this effort.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical-related manufacturing, sales, or distribution, or a BA/BS degree in Chemistry/Biology or Engineering, or equivalent training in chemical management, environmental health, or safety.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills, along with proficiency in data analysis and tracking software.
  • Experience with Windows, MS Office, MS SharePoint, and other relevant software applications.

Travel Requirements
  • Please note that SEE Enrollees may not operate government-owned vehicles.
