Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Odle Management, a subsidiary of Eckerd Connects. This is a salaried, exempt position located at the Potomac Job Corps Center in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and coordinate the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program.
  • Conduct in-service training sessions with staff and students on substance use and abuse prevention and intervention.
  • Monitor behavior and progress of students involved in the program.
  • Maintain confidential reports and records on referrals and cases.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Attend staff training sessions and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect.
Requirements
  • Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements.
  • One year of work-related experience, preferably working with youth.
  • Master's degree and previous experience with disadvantaged youth, particularly in a residential setting, are preferred.
