Job Summary

The MDS Assessment Nurse Coordinator will implement state and federal guidelines related to the MDS process, complete the MDS process, and ensure all is current and implemented. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Implement state and federal guidelines related to the MDS process.
  • Complete the MDS process and ensure all is current and implemented.
  • Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out assigned duties.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care.
  • Provide leadership and supervisory ability.
  • Ensure knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Degree from an accredited college or university or approved Registered Nurse program.
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in Wisconsin.
  • Two years long-term care experience.
  • Intimate knowledge of the MDS process.
  • One year experience as an MDS Assessment Nurse or Registered Nurse with MDS experience.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
