Job Overview

Position Responsibilities

The Aviation Paint Technician will be accountable for refinishing aircraft and components in accordance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all items within the paint facility.
  • Execute all stages of preparation and painting procedures.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting or sealing.
  • Ensure accurate tagging and documentation for all parts.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Oversee the application of logos, symbols, or designs on painted surfaces.
  • Utilize appropriate technical references and tools for painting and sealing tasks.
  • Conduct cleaning and maintenance of all painting and sealing equipment.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Ability to identify and resolve paint-related issues, including color matching and blending.
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Detail-oriented and self-driven work ethic.
  • Consistent delivery of high-quality results, with a focus on teamwork and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations is essential.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with paint systems such as Axalta AF, Axalta Imron Elite, and PPG B/C & clears.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in paint and bodywork.
  • Experience in the transportation sector is advantageous.
  • Completion of a vocational program is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of enduring extended periods of standing, bending, and crawling.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in various positions around and above the aircraft.
  • Exposure to heights and working from ladders.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature conditions.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Employment Status

  • Full-time, Permanent position.
  • Standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.
  • Travel as required.
