Exciting Role for a Healthcare Billing and Coding Supervisor

We are seeking a proficient individual to assume the position of Healthcare Billing and Coding Supervisor. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to the efficient functioning of the front desk and financial check-out processes, ensuring that all patients receive prompt and accurate service. As a vital member of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team, your responsibilities will include overseeing accounts receivable management and follow-up for all patient medical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Supervisor, collaborating closely with the VP of Operations and the Director of RCM to coordinate various tasks.
  • Effectively manage front desk personnel, intake procedures, and the internal team.
  • Ensure accurate coding of relevant diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers based on medical documentation.
  • Review and resolve coding-related issues that may affect claim submissions.
  • Timely submission of charges and accurate data entry for all coded services.
  • Utilize knowledge of commercial insurance reimbursement to ensure correct claim submissions.
  • Identify and rectify coding and billing discrepancies, efficiently handling claim denials.
  • Make informed decisions regarding bundled services, inclusions, exclusions, and code sequencing.
  • Accurately input patient insurance information to facilitate claims processing and reduce denials.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and staff to ensure precise billing and coding practices.
  • Assist in educating providers about billing issues identified during claim reviews, with support from the Billing Manager.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to patient data security protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Exhibit a customer-focused approach, demonstrating professionalism while managing patient matters sensitively and confidentially.
  • Stay informed on coding and documentation requirements set forth by CPT, ICD-10, and CMS for all physician services.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, disease processes, and surgical techniques to apply CPT and ICD-10 codes accurately.
  • Prior experience in medical billing is essential for this position.
  • Complete any additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by the management team.
