Role Summary:
The Medical Billing Oversight Supervisor at Absolute Staffing & Consulting Solutions is responsible for ensuring that the medical billing review team consistently meets production and accuracy benchmarks while evaluating and processing medical invoices related to workers' compensation and auto claims, adhering to established fee schedules and UCR guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily functions of the medical billing review and cost containment division.
- Supervise all personnel involved in medical billing review and cost containment activities.
- Guarantee the effective repricing and management of incoming invoices during the review and payment processes, in line with applicable repricing regulations and prevailing fee schedules.
- Oversee the precise and efficient coding of medical invoices into the company's repricing system.
- Examine medical fee structures and related documentation to ensure the correct application of CPT and ICD-10 codes, as well as compliance with fee schedules.
- Assess medical fee data and supporting documents to confirm the appropriate use of coding and accurate reimbursement for services rendered.
- Address and resolve issues identified by the medical billing review team.
- Efficiently reprices and directs incoming invoices by analyzing payment data according to established fee schedules and guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and timely coding of medical invoices into the repricing database.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven supervisory experience in the fields of workers' compensation and auto medical billing review, cost containment, and bill coding.
- Experience with bill repricing and coding for workers' compensation and auto injury invoices within the New York jurisdiction is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Adaptability to changing responsibilities and tasks within the work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Capacity to produce high-quality work efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook; familiarity with Excel is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with a minimum of two years of clinical experience.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
This role requires prolonged periods of sitting and working with a computer and monitor throughout the workday.
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring occasional in-office attendance.
