Role and Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient-focused respiratory care in accordance with departmental protocols and industry standards. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of assessments and procedures while monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting patient evaluations, diagnostic tests, and administering respiratory treatments.
  • Assisting with airway management and providing mechanical ventilation support.
  • Monitoring patient reactions and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Addressing critical patient situations and ensuring effective ventilation during resuscitation efforts.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Required certifications including Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, with further education preferred.
