Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner issued by the Texas Medical Board and active in good standing.
- Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care and active in good standing.
- Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate from an accredited respiratory program.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting is preferred; licensed new grads will be considered.
- Must be able to work days and rotating weekends.
