About the Role

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a vital part of the patient care team, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner issued by the Texas Medical Board active and in good standing.
  • Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care active and in good standing.
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate from an accredited respiratory program.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting is preferred; licensed new grads will be considered.
  • Must be able to work days and rotating weekends.
