POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Clinical Risk Management Specialist will spearhead the implementation and enhancement of quality initiatives and risk oversight.
This role involves monitoring patient outcomes and associated risks throughout treatment, conducting evaluations, and auditing risk management practices within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To successfully fulfill this role, the individual must effectively perform each essential function, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Oversee performance metrics in critical areas such as clinical excellence, service quality, personnel management, and financial stewardship.
- Provide education and training to leadership and staff regarding the risk management framework and their specific roles in its execution.
- Guide and support departments in formulating risk management strategies tailored to their operational areas.
- Gather, assess, and maintain data related to patient incidents, claims, and workers' compensation, along with other risk-associated information.
- Conduct investigations and analyze underlying causes, patterns, and trends; assist in identifying and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Actively engage in or facilitate committees focused on risk management, safety, and quality enhancement.
- Design and execute the organization's risk management program in alignment with its mission and strategic objectives while adhering to applicable federal and state regulations and accreditation standards.
- Perform random audits of patient records.
- Supervise Activity Therapists and Therapist/Case Managers regarding daily operations and documentation in the absence of the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

o A minimum of two years' experience in risk management, quality improvement, health information management, healthcare administration, patient care, or business management.
o Geriatric experience is preferred.
EDUCATION/LICENSES:
o Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a Registered Nursing Degree.
o Current RN license in the state of practice.
o CPR Certification.
