Bilingual Loan Clerk/Coordinator (English/Spanish)
COMPENSATION: $17.50 to $21.75 per hour, depending on experience, with potential bonuses.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Non-Exempt - Full-Time
SUPERVISOR: Loan Department Manager

PRIMARY ROLE: Provide Spanish language interpretation, administrative assistance, and technical support to the Loan Department. Act as the primary point of contact for members and staff, efficiently resolving inquiries and directing members to appropriate resources. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct all inquiries from members and staff to the relevant parties.
- Exhibit patience and understanding while assisting Spanish-speaking members with loan applications and related regulations.
- Prepare loan documentation for imaging and perform imaging tasks.
- Organize loan documents in member files and maintain closed files.
- Review pending loan applications and follow up as necessary.
- Manage payoff inquiries and requests.
- Accurately perfect and release titled collateral using both paper and electronic methods.
- Provide backup support for indirect loan funding processes.
- Conduct post-funding calls for indirect loans.
- Process and distribute lending notifications and letters in both English and Spanish, including adverse action notices and loan renewal letters.
- Perform file maintenance within the core system for various requests such as due date adjustments and revolving limit changes.
- Proactively promote credit union products and services to achieve departmental and individual sales goals.
- Collaborate with sales, service, and support teams to foster a positive member experience.
- Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with at least two Saturdays each month.
- Meet qualifications for registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance policies, including BSA, AML, OFAC, and MIP procedures.
- Independently complete assigned tasks from weekly and monthly reports, including closed loans and audits.
- Work closely with loan department staff to ensure timely and friendly communication regarding loan requests.
- Assist members with GAP claim submissions and insurance payouts.
- Strive to maintain high efficiency within the loan department.
2. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, or candidates must be actively pursuing their diploma. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with the public and colleagues in a high-pressure environment are essential. While experience in lending, sales, vehicle titling, or customer service is beneficial, it is not mandatory. All bilingual applicants will be considered and trained for the responsibilities outlined above. Employees must possess the mobility and stamina to work in a standard office environment and be able to operate standard office equipment. Some roles may require lifting items up to 30 pounds and standing or sitting for extended periods. Employees should have adequate hearing and speech capabilities to communicate effectively with members and staff in person or via phone.
