Job Summary

The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking a tenure-ineligible Assistant or Associate Professor-level Clinical Health Psychologist to join its clinical faculty. This position has a clinical emphasis with primary responsibilities in the Behavioral Medicine Center, providing outpatient evaluations and evidence-based interventions for individuals diagnosed with various medical and psychological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services, including outpatient evaluations and interventions, for individuals with medical and psychological conditions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based programs in consultation liaison, learner wellness, pediatrics, and transplantation.
  • Teach and supervise postdoctoral fellows, doctoral-level practicum students, and/or psychiatry residents.
  • Pursue research interests and engage in scholarly activities, with support from the Department's internal funding mechanism.
Requirements
  • PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Postdoctoral experience in Health Psychology is strongly preferred.
  • Experience providing empirically-based psychological interventions with medical populations, consulting with medical staff, and performing medically-specialized psychological evaluations.
  • License-eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and licensed by date of hire.
  • Board certified or eligible for board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
