Froedtert South is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth registration process.
Key Responsibilities- Execute arrival registration by adhering to registration standards
- Accurately identify and enter patient's insurance coverage
- Manage and resolve departmental assigned work queues
- Perform insurance verifications
- Register patients for outpatient tests and procedures
- Perform direct admission workflow
- Provide departmental support
- Proficiently use healthcare software utilizing established standards
- High School or Equivalent (GED)
- 6 months – 1 year of experience in patient registration, insurance verification, and health insurance plans
- Formal education beyond high school in Business or Healthcare or equivalent experience preferred
- Excellent computer and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology; ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes and use
- Familiarity with internet, email, and Microsoft Office
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required
- Demonstrates ability to efficiently organize work, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and productivity
