We are seeking a highly skilled Endpoint Systems Engineer I to join our IT Infrastructure team at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and stability of our organization's IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Deploy, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems across the organization.
- Manage and monitor MCM, JAMF, and Intune platforms to facilitate software deployments, updates, and patch management.
- Build, test, and deploy software packages in MCM, Intune, and JAMF.
- Manage endpoint imaging and deployment infrastructure through MCM and Intune.
- Utilize PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks and streamline system administration processes and software distribution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software-related issues.
- Proactively upgrade endpoints, software, and processes to enhance functionality and address security concerns.
- Maintain and create system documentation, including configuration settings, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, software distribution and licensing.
- Install, repair and upgrade campus desktop devices to include: hardware, printers, and peripherals as needed.
- Participate in regular operational meetings/discussions to review, plan, update, inform, processes, workflows, policies, and projects.
- Implement and administer hardware inventory and asset tracking using various tools.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years related experience.
- Proficiency in MCM (Microsoft Configuration Manager), JAMF, and Intune.
- Strong scripting skills, PowerShell and/or batch, for automation and task execution.
- In-depth knowledge of hardware and software components, including operating systems, networking, and security.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with users of varying levels of technical competency.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Hiring Range: $62,500 - $70,000. WPI's benefits package includes a robust retirement match, wellness perks, tuition assistance and more
