Software Engineer Role Overview

Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighters.

This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.

A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise to:

  • Generate software documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain existing software for both embedded devices/systems as well as desktop test software based on requirements.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities
  • Software requirements verification and validation.
  • Use test equipment to troubleshoot software and hardware

Basic qualifications for a Software Engineer level (T02):

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field with 2 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or Master's with 0 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.

Professional experience developing software in C/C++ Professional experience developing desktop applications in C, C++, C#, or Java.

Experience with full software lifecycle:

specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance are required.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, United States citizenship is a prerequisite.

Experience operating oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies, signal generator, and spectrum analyzers.

Must have an active security clearance

Experience with software version control tools such as Git.

Extensive experience with Windows Desktop applications in C#.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software and identify root cause issues.

Ability to set up test equipment to support software development.

Active Secret Clearance.
