Position Overview

The individual in this role will oversee the social services division within a significant state facility.

Key Responsibilities

The following are essential duties associated with this position. These functions are foundational and common across all roles within this classification, and they do not represent an exhaustive list of all tasks assigned to any one position.

  • Manages the social services division by planning, assigning, reviewing, and assessing the performance of team members. Facilitates case management through a collaborative approach to client care.
  • Oversees the centralized intake, information, referral, and application processes for long-term care facilities.
  • Participates in various committees and task forces to evaluate the quality of services offered to facility residents, including the development and analysis of user satisfaction surveys and preparation of specialized reports as required.
  • Advocates for the rights and needs of residents and their families.
  • Represents the social services division to community stakeholders, other service organizations, the general public, and clients, addressing inquiries and delivering presentations on social service initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements for Social Services Administrator II Applicants must demonstrate education, training, and/or experience that reflects competence in the following areas:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in health or human services, applying theories, principles, laws, and practices that enhance the well-being of individuals, families, or communities.
  • At least six months of experience in the administration of health or human services programs, including oversight of program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Six months of experience in policy or procedure development.
  • Six months of experience in writing narrative reports.
  • Six months of experience in supervising staff, including planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating their work.
