Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Electrician to perform preventative maintenance and installation/repairs of electrical/mechanical tunnel and bridge systems equipment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of field electrical experience, with a strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical components. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical components up to 480 VAC 3-phase systems, maintaining electrical wiring systems, and reading blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical/mechanical tunnel and bridge systems equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components up to 480 VAC 3-phase systems
  • Maintain electrical wiring systems and components in accordance with National Electrical Code and Industry Standards
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures
  • Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders
  • Inspect electrical systems and their components
  • Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses
  • Make rough sketches and estimate cost, time, and materials of electrical work
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate, and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments
  • Maintain, test, and repair electrical equipment for safety and efficiency
  • Plan the layout and wiring of new or existing installations
  • Fabricate electrical parts and inspect completed work for conformance with specifications
  • Inspect related work performed by contractors and estimate cost, time, and materials for electrical projects
  • Clean, maintain, and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties
  • Experience utilizing electrical schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical load centers and distribution systems
  • Analyze electrical plant operational characteristics and make recommendations to correct deficiencies
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License
  • Flexible schedule (relates to a 24/7/365 operating environment)
  • Experienced in and/or knowledgeable of traffic monitoring and control systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to operate and perform work in a bucket truck
