Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex castings, leveraging expertise in casting alloys and processes, including gravity, low-pressure, and high-pressure die casting.
  • Apply knowledge of core making processes and materials to drive innovation and efficiency in casting manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure high-quality castings and minimize defects.
  • Work closely with suppliers to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, ensuring seamless production.
  • Contribute to the development of casting manufacturing feasibility assessments, driving business growth and profitability.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in aluminum casting processes used to produce various automotive components.
  • Working level knowledge of casting, post-processing, and die development processes.
  • Knowledge of secondary operations associated with castings, including trimming, fettling, deburring, and quality checks.
  • Understanding of MagmaSoft or other casting simulation software results.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to present, persuade, and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with high-pressure die casting of structural components.
  • Foundry operational experience in casting manufacturing processes and process control.
  • Proven track record of delivering major product launches in an automotive manufacturing facility.
