The work influences an entire area, ultimately affecting the overall performance and effectiveness of the job family.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and support multiple risk and control initiatives for the organization, including defining the strategy, methodology, processes, quality standards, tools, and reporting mechanisms that ensure global consistency and excellence in risk management.
Collaborate closely with business partners to address findings and recommend enhancements to practices.
Develop and implement procedural changes and management processes in conjunction with Operations and Reporting teams to ensure robust governance and controls are in place.
Review procedures for consistency and identify gaps relative to regulations, as well as their impact on customer experience.
Conduct internal assessments of dispute processes to ensure compliance with control measures.
Monitor exceptions to dispute policies and analyze the underlying causes of these exceptions.
Utilize data analytics to assess impacts on Customer Experience and identify regulatory breaches.
Demonstrate the ability to operate with a limited level of direct oversight.
Exhibit independence in judgment and decision-making.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and team members.
Effectively evaluate risk when making business decisions, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, applying sound ethical judgment in personal conduct and business practices, and transparently managing and reporting control issues.
Qualifications:
6-10 years of relevant experience in Business Risk & Controls
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, and Visual Basic is advantageous. A minimum of 5 years' experience in the financial services sector.
Consistently demonstrates clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and influencing skills are required.
Experience in third-party vendor management is preferred. Proven ability to lead global team initiatives.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to see the big picture while paying close attention to critical details.
Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute strategic and process improvement initiatives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is a plus.
