Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Employment Navigator to support the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and assist military personnel in their transition to civilian occupations. The successful candidate will provide individual counseling on the job search process, assess transitioning Servicemembers' acquired skills, and assist with career exploration and translating military experience desired by future employers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide job search guidance and career advice to transitioning Servicemembers and spouses.
  • Assist clients in identifying necessary credentials and developing a path to fill qualification gaps through credentialing.
  • Provide labor market information, identify companies and industries in specific areas, and offer advice on how to apply for jobs.
  • Connect transitioning Servicemembers and spouses to DOL-approved government and non-government partners, as well as American Job Centers/State Workforce Agencies.
  • Provide resume and cover letter advice, and general information on apprenticeships, Registered Apprenticeship Programs, and their benefits.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma and 4 years of experience working as a Workforce Solutions, Workforce Development, Career Counselor, Human Resources (HR) Specialist, and/or experience in employment counseling, vocational counseling, guidance, placement counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or educational counseling.
  • Or an Associate's degree.
  • Knowledge of the civilian workplace, translating military skills/language, assessing job market, and researching/interpreting job requirements.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of Applications and virtual meeting platforms.
  • The ability to work well with the Military community.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
  • The ability to travel up to 10%.

This position is an in-office client-facing position with set office hours. In the event that extenuating circumstances and/or business need require remote work, individuals must work in an uninterrupted environment and must have reliable internet access.
