POSITION OBJECTIVE

The role involves executing various tasks such as handling deposits, withdrawals, posting transactions to general ledger accounts, cashing negotiable instruments, processing loan payments, and managing savings bonds and cashier's checks, all while promoting the bank's offerings and delivering exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure efficient and accurate Teller operations:
    • Represent the bank professionally and courteously.
    • Process deposits and loan payments effectively.
    • Cash checks and other negotiable items for customers.
    • Verify documents for endorsements and negotiability.
    • Facilitate account transfers and sell financial instruments.
    • Manage cash advances and balance cash daily.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
    • Promote additional bank products to enhance customer relationships.
    • Maintain a record of proof errors within acceptable limits.
    • Adhere to Teller procedures and compliance standards.
    • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
  2. Develop and maintain professional client relationships:
    • Address client inquiries and requests promptly.
    • Operate the online teller system efficiently.
    • Safeguard customer information privacy.
    • Uphold the bank's reputation for quality service.
  3. Collaborate effectively with team members and management:
    • Assist colleagues as required.
    • Participate in training and orientation sessions.
    • Keep supervisors informed of relevant activities and issues.
    • Complete necessary reports and documentation accurately and timely.
    • Attend meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  4. Perform additional related duties as assigned:
    • Handle night drop functions as required.
    • Carry out clerical tasks as needed.
    • Ensure work areas are clean and secure.
    • Cross-sell bank products and services effectively.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  1. Teller functions are executed efficiently and accurately in line with established policies and security protocols.
  2. Cash balances are maintained, with discrepancies resolved promptly.
  3. Positive client relations are established, with inquiries addressed courteously.
  4. Strong working relationships exist with team members and management, with support provided as needed.
  5. Reports and records are completed accurately and on time.
  6. Efforts are made to foster new client relationships and enhance existing ones through product offerings.
  7. The bank's professional image is consistently upheld.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge: Familiarity with banking operations is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role with cash handling experience required. Previous Teller experience is advantageous.

Skills: Strong communication abilities, professional demeanor, good mathematical skills, typing proficiency, and the capability to operate relevant computer applications and office equipment.
