POSITION OBJECTIVE

The role involves executing various tasks such as managing deposits, withdrawals, posting transactions to general ledger accounts, cashing negotiable instruments, processing loan repayments, savings bonds, and cashier's checks while promoting the bank's offerings and delivering exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure efficient and accurate Teller operations:
    • Represent the bank with professionalism and courtesy.
    • Process and manage customer deposits.
    • Handle loan repayment transactions.
    • Cash checks and other negotiable items for clients.
    • Review documents for proper endorsements and negotiability.
    • Facilitate transfers between customer accounts.
    • Issue traveler's checks, official checks, and money orders.
    • Process cash advances on credit cards.
    • Verify and balance cash on a daily basis.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
    • Promote additional Bank products to enhance customer relationships.
    • Maintain a record of no more than one proof error within a 30-day timeframe.
    • Adhere to Teller procedures and compliance standards consistently.
    • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
  2. Build and maintain professional relationships with clients:
    • Address client inquiries and requests promptly.
    • Operate the online teller system efficiently.
    • Safeguard customer information privacy.
    • Uphold and project the Bank's esteemed reputation.
  3. Foster effective collaboration with team members and management:
    • Support colleagues as necessary.
    • Assist in training or onboarding as required.
    • Keep supervisors informed about team activities and any issues.
    • Complete necessary reports and documentation accurately and timely.
    • Participate in meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  4. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned:
    • Perform night drop functions as designated.
    • Carry out related clerical tasks as needed.
    • Ensure workspaces are clean, secure, and well-organized.
    • Cross-sell Bank products and services effectively.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  1. Teller functions are executed efficiently, effectively, and accurately in line with established policies and security protocols.
  2. Cash is balanced with any discrepancies resolved promptly, maintaining a record that meets set standards.
  3. Strong business relationships are cultivated with clients, ensuring their inquiries are addressed courteously and swiftly.
  4. Effective coordination and collaboration exist with team members and management, providing assistance as needed.
  5. All required reports and records are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  6. Efforts are made to develop new client relationships while strengthening existing ones through identifying opportunities to promote Bank products and services.
  7. The Bank's professional image is consistently upheld and communicated.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge: Familiarity with banking operations is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role with cash handling experience required. Previous Teller experience is advantageous.

Skills: Excellent communication abilities, professional demeanor, strong mathematical skills, proficient typing skills, and the capability to operate relevant computer applications and office equipment.
