POSITION OBJECTIVE

The role involves executing various tasks such as handling deposits, withdrawals, posting to general ledger accounts, cashing negotiable instruments, processing loan payments, and managing savings bonds and cashier's checks, all while promoting the bank's offerings and delivering exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure efficient and accurate execution of Teller duties:
    • Represent the bank with professionalism and courtesy.
    • Process deposits and loan payments efficiently.
    • Cash checks and other negotiable items for clients.
    • Review documents for endorsements and negotiability.
    • Facilitate transfers between accounts.
    • Sell traveler's checks, official checks, and money orders.
    • Manage credit card cash advances.
    • Verify and balance cash on a daily basis.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
    • Promote additional Bank products to meet customer needs and enhance relationships.
    • Maintain a maximum of one proof error within a 30-day timeframe.
    • Adhere to Teller procedures and compliance requirements consistently.
    • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  2. Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients:
    • Ensure prompt resolution of client requests and inquiries.
    • Operate the online teller terminal effectively.
    • Safeguard customer information privacy.
    • Uphold and project the Bank's quality reputation.
  3. Foster effective collaboration with team members and management:
    • Assist colleagues as needed.
    • Support training or orientation initiatives.
    • Keep supervisors informed of activities and any issues.
    • Complete necessary reports and records accurately and timely.
    • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  4. Perform related duties as assigned:
    • Execute night drop functions as needed.
    • Handle clerical tasks as assigned.
    • Ensure work areas are clean, secure, and well-maintained.
    • Cross-sell Bank products and services effectively.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  1. Teller functions are performed efficiently, effectively, and accurately in line with established policies and security protocols.
  2. Cash is balanced, and discrepancies are resolved promptly, maintaining a record that meets established standards.
  3. Strong business relations are maintained with clients, ensuring courteous and prompt resolution of issues.
  4. Effective working relationships and coordination exist with team members and management, providing assistance as needed.
  5. Reports and records are completed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
  6. Efforts are made to develop new client relationships and strengthen existing ones by identifying opportunities to promote Bank products and services.
  7. The Bank's professional reputation is consistently upheld and conveyed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Knowledge: Familiarity with Bank operations is preferred.

Experience Required: Minimum of one year of relevant experience in cash handling is required; prior Teller experience is preferred.

Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, professional appearance and demeanor, strong mathematical abilities, proficient typing skills, and capability to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
