About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Specialist to join our team at the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. As a key member of our Day Camp team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs for children of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with campers, volunteers, and colleagues
  • Implement energizing, fun, safe, and educational programs in accordance with YMCA guidelines
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and assist with placement of orders
  • Follow all Camp procedures and guidelines, including those pertaining to health and safety, camper supervision, and staff expectations
  • Assist with and attend all mandatory meetings and trainings
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in implementing camp programs
  • At least one year of experience as a senior counselor or specialty director at a licensed day or resident camp
  • At least one year of training and/or experience in specific specialty area assigned
  • Current First Aid, Adult and Child CPR, AED, and O2 administration certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and relate to school-age children, teens, and one's peers
  • Demonstrated ability to create, schedule, organize, and implement daily camp activities, special events, and staff training activities
