Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Housekeeping Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily functions of our housekeeping team, ensuring a safe environment and high-quality service that maximizes guest satisfaction while safeguarding our assets and minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the housekeeping team, including planning, assigning, and directing their tasks, as well as providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper in the recruitment and selection of new team members.
- Monitor team performance and efficiency, making recommendations for promotions or other personnel changes as needed.
- Assist in addressing employee concerns and grievances, implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Determine necessary materials, supplies, and tools required for housekeeping operations.
- Supervise and inspect the cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Implement emergency protocols and training to protect the safety of guests, staff, and company assets.
- Allocate assignments to staff, reviewing special requests and focusing on areas that require attention to ensure seamless housekeeping operations.
- Distribute supplies to staff at the beginning of shifts to manage inventory effectively while controlling costs.
- Address guest requests and concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction, maintaining accurate records of lost and found items.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of one to two years of post-secondary education.
- Experience: A minimum of one to two years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge/Skills: A solid understanding of housekeeping operations and hotel services, policies, and procedures, typically acquired through on-the-job experience. Strong supervisory and management skills are essential.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push and pull housekeeping carts, and carry supplies weighing up to 35 lbs. Continuous movement throughout the hotel is required, with the ability to stand for extended periods and navigate stairs and ladders as necessary.
Work Environment:
This role involves prolonged physical activity in a climate-controlled indoor environment, with exposure to varying temperatures in laundry areas. Associates are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and dedication to service excellence.
