Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
  • Register patients for appointments, procedures, and admissions using electronic health record (EHR) systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify patient demographic information and insurance coverage, obtaining necessary authorizations and referrals as required.
  • Collect patient co-payments, deductibles, and other financial obligations, explaining billing processes and payment options as needed.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure smooth and timely patient flow and scheduling.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and requests promptly and courteously, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure resolution.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry to support departmental operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration, patient registration, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
  • Willingness to adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
