Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Parking Management Company. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our nursing team by closely monitoring patients with behavioral health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous Patient Observation: Maintain constant visual monitoring of assigned patients to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Collaboration with Nursing Staff: Receive reports, communicate observations, and escalate concerns to the Registered Nurse when necessary.
- Patient Safety and Security: Prevent patients from harming themselves or others and ensure the security of medical equipment.
- Communication and De-escalation: Provide companionship, actively listen, and employ verbal de-escalation techniques as needed to maintain a calm environment.
- Basic Patient Care Assistance: Assist with repositioning, walking, and other minor tasks under the direction of the RN.
- Documentation: Accurately record observations and interventions using designated patient monitoring tools.
- Professionalism and Teamwork: Maintain a positive and respectful demeanor while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all company policies, infection control procedures, and professional standards.
- Continuing Education: Participate in required training modules and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow with our company.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred; at least 1 year of patient/customer service experience is mandatory.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, strong observation, documentation, and reporting abilities, calm and compassionate demeanor with a dedication to patient safety.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to move freely, sit for extended periods, and communicate effectively in noisy environments.
