Job Overview

Stone Alliance Group is seeking a Global Research Operations Manager to lead the Global Landscape Mapping Initiative, focused on assessing the prevalence of mental health issues among children and adolescents in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. This pivotal role encompasses the creation of culturally adapted questionnaires, the formulation of survey protocols, and the implementation of quality assurance measures while supervising data collection efforts.

  • Proficiency in managing operational surveys.
  • Demonstrated ability in overseeing both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting cognitive interviews.
  • Proven track record in vendor management.

This position reports directly to the Director of the Global Landscape Mapping Initiative and is classified as exempt, requiring a commitment of 30 hours per week, with the possibility of extending to 40 hours based on organizational needs. The role is hybrid, necessitating a minimum of three days in the office.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and deliverables.
  • Prepare essential project documentation such as survey methodologies, cognitive interviewing guides, and ethics review submissions.
  • Draft Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and solicit bids from various vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to deliverables and timelines while overseeing payment requests.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of research budgets.
  • Test survey protocols, monitor field progress, and evaluate quality control metrics.
  • Coordinate internal and external team meetings.
  • Compile summary reports tailored to sponsors.
  • Prepare presentations related to the initiative's activities, progress, and outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant social science discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in operational survey management, particularly with large-scale and complex surveys.
  • At least three years of international survey research experience.
  • A minimum of two years of vendor management experience.
  • Two years of experience in developing cognitive interviewing guides and conducting cognitive interviews.
  • Experience in survey programming.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exceptional report writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant social science field.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, Greek, or other commonly spoken languages in South Africa.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $62,400-$77,250 annually. The offered salary will be influenced by factors such as the candidate's experience, education, job-related skills, and market considerations.
