Position Summary
The Construction Project Assistant plays a vital role by supporting the Senior Project Superintendent in overseeing the construction process from the initial phase to the final Certificate of Occupancy. This position involves daily management, coordination, and ensuring the successful completion of projects while adhering to time and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in formulating the overall construction plan for projects.
- Develop and maintain a detailed construction progress schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers. Regularly update the daily log.
- Prepare and manage logs for tracking shop drawings, contract documents, submittals, requests for information, change orders, and material deliveries.
- Monitor and facilitate the timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications and quality standards throughout the construction process.
- Support the Project Manager in generating monthly job status reports and contribute to the preparation of the ACR.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all project plans, specifications, contracts, and related documents, ensuring accurate as-built records.
- Assist in preparing change proposals and reviewing change orders, issuing them to subcontractors and the Project Accountant.
- Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager and Senior Project Superintendent on final revisions to the master cost breakdown.
- Communicate potential schedule delays to the Vice President.
- Foster positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and municipal authorities.
- Provide weekly updates on job progress during internal meetings as directed.
- Assist with project closeout and completion turnover.

Skills & Abilities
Education: GED, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school). Relevant experience with certifications is welcomed.
Experience: 1 – 5 years, with ground-up development experience being advantageous.
Computer Skills: Proficient in PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications, including Project, Excel, Word, Project Management software (e.g., Procore), Auto-CAD, Smartsheets, Bluebeam, and SAGE.
Other Requirements: Demonstrated capabilities in estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field supervision, financial reporting, client relations, interpersonal skills, and safety/insurance. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
