Department Overview

The Radiology department at Children's Minnesota offers a wide range of diagnostic imaging services, including sedated and nonsedated procedures, to support pediatric surgery, disease, or injury. Our team provides 24-hour consultation services, education, and outreach programs to ensure the highest level of care.

Position Summary

This Lead position plays a critical role in the Radiology department, serving as an expert and leader on the designated team. The successful candidate will provide guidance, training, and instruction to team members, ensuring alignment with Children's Minnesota standards. Additionally, the Lead will communicate organizational initiatives, safety protocols, and goals to the team, ensuring timely completion of tasks and deadlines.

The Lead will also support and motivate the team to deliver exceptional patient care, coordinating day-to-day activities and procedures as needed. This role will assist in hiring and onboarding, providing training and mentoring to new team members. The Lead will maintain a collaborative and inclusive environment, ensuring open communication and feedback to the Management team.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met in partnership with Children's Minnesota leaders and committees
  • Provide quality oversight of assigned areas
  • Maintain incomplete exam reports
  • Be available for clinicians with questions and concerns during Lead work hours
  • Troubleshoot problems and collaborate with managers on solutions
  • Report issues with equipment to clinical equipment services or manager in a timely manner
  • Lead and facilitate efficient clinical work flows
  • Maintain core and universal competencies
  • Complete any new required learning and ensure understanding among technologist staff
Requirements

This role requires a registered radiological technologist with two years of post-certification experience. ARRT Advanced Certification is preferred. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to provide expertise, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with staff. Critical thinking skills and the ability to problem-solve are essential.
