Job Summary

The Kettle Moraine YMCA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Child Care Site Director. This key leadership role is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the center's programs, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and orderly environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and implement center programs, adhering to DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules and Kettle Moraine YMCA policies.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Director to develop, counsel, and terminate staff, ensuring a high-quality team.
  • Schedule and monitor staff, including continuing education, staff meetings, and performance reviews.
  • Assist in curriculum planning, including field trips, and delegate tasks to teachers.
  • Take on a teaching role as needed, maintaining a high level of expertise in early childhood education.
  • Maintain all required paperwork, including staff/volunteer records, child records, and regulatory compliance.
  • Market the program and manage new enrollment, ensuring a strong reputation in the community.
  • Conduct regular program observations and reviews, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage the center's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
  • Problem-solve and report incidents to the supervisor, providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, maintaining a positive and sensitive approach.
  • Participate in approved continuing education to maintain certifications and stay up-to-date in the field.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Degree in Early Childhood or related field (Associate's degree preferred).
  • Meet Wisconsin Registry Level 12 and qualifications for Center Director for a center with 51 or more children.
  • 2 years of experience in Early Childhood/Child Care (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisory role (preferred).
  • Ability to interact with children at their cognitive level.
  • CPR/AED certification (required within 3 months of hire).
  • Pass a fingerprint check.
  • Complete a health physical within 30 days of hire.
Certifications and Physical Demands
  • Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention certification (annual requirement).
  • The ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • The ability to participate in required physical activities with children.
