Job Summary:
Houston Methodist is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Operations Coordinator to join our team in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient flow, obtain patient demographics, and prepare patients for provider visits.
- Organize daily schedules and work activities to meet patient needs.
- Assist with triage, patient prescription refills, and referrals, and provide prescription education.
- Independently execute preceptor duties, serve as a clinical resource, and guide colleagues through processes to provide optimal patient care.
- Work with clinical management to assess and determine process protocols for clinics and conduct meetings with clinic staff and practice managers.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Five years of experience as a Senior/Advanced Medical Assistant.
- Two years of demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in healthcare.
- CMA - National Certified Medical Assistant, or equivalent certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification.
- EPIC proficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
- Effective communication with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers.
- Knowledge of medical practice and care of patients.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Working Conditions:
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and concisely, and maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information.
