Job Summary

We are seeking a Retail Store Clerk to join our team at SAS. As a Retail Store Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a welcoming store environment, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily store opening and closing procedures, adhering to SAS standards of service, cleanliness, and caring.
  • Make weekly bank deposits and manage cash handling responsibilities.
  • Provide a friendly and welcoming environment for customers, engaging them in conversation and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers in finding the right SAS shoes, measuring their feet, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Show customers different categories of shoes, handbags, and shoe care products, and provide product knowledge and recommendations.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) computer systems for sales, returns, charges, checks, and receiving transfers.
  • Gain product knowledge on all SAS items and demonstrate enthusiasm and belief in the product and company philosophy through daily words and actions.
  • Be punctual and ready to work at scheduled times, and execute tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • Some computer ability with POS systems and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional customer service.
  • Mature, responsible, and hardworking.
  • Respectful and caring towards coworkers.
  • Possess a high level of integrity, respect, and empathy for all employees, visitors, vendors, and customers.
  • Passion, integrity, and energy to achieve greatness for SAS and the team.
  • Accountable for actions and maintain good attendance.
  • Self-motivated and a collaborative team player.
  • Must obtain a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, sometimes with assistance.
  • Standing for long periods, frequent bending, climbing, and moving.
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer, visual inspection, and preparing projects.
  • Frequent communication with customers and coworkers.
  • Some travel may be required, and ability to operate a vehicle is necessary.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Retail experience is preferred but not required.

Hours

  • Able to work day and night hours, including weekends.
