Compensation Range:
Permitting and Compliance Analyst I: $57,100 - $71,400
Permit and Compliance Analyst II: $69,900 - $87,400
Senior Permit and Compliance Analyst: $79,100 - $105,400
Lead Permit and Compliance Analyst: $93,100 - $124,100
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (may require additional hours with short notice; potential for remote work)
Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in securing and maintaining all necessary permits for the routing, construction, and upkeep of transmission lines. The incumbent will also engage in permitting activities for new and expanding substations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to foster effective communication and coordination.
- Establish and nurture strong working relationships with federal, state, and local agencies on behalf of Evergy.
- Develop and oversee Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), providing expertise, support, training, and compliance inspections during construction phases.
- Manage the renewal, monitoring, and closure of SWPPPs.
- Handle various permits including but not limited to:
- KCC- RESA, EL
- FAA and local airspace
- KDOT, MoDOT, and KTA
- Railroad
- County and City permits
- CoE- levee impact
- KDHE/MDNR- contaminated soil or water
- Historical and cultural resources
- KDA-DWR- Clean Water Act
- Public Lands/Conservation Areas
- Conditional and Special Use Permits
- Substation land purchase and expansion permitting
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in Right of Way permitting and environmental protection regulations.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in oral and written communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and effective listening.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and making informed decisions in an organized and timely manner.
- Adaptable to evolving technologies and environments.
- Proficient in various software applications, including basic office tools and databases.
- Ability to cultivate relationships with Federal, State, and Local agencies.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Work Environment:
- This position involves both indoor and outdoor work. A strong attendance record is essential.
