Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Academic Coordinator to join our Environmental and Sustainability Studies Program team at Wake Forest University. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Director and faculty, ensuring the smooth operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage the program's inventory, ensuring that supplies, equipment, and facilities are in good working order.
  • Coordinate and schedule events, meetings, and activities, including room reservations and catering arrangements.
  • Assist with budget management, tracking expenses, and reconciling financial transactions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the program and other university departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide technical support for classroom technology and equipment.
  • Assist with faculty recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes.
  • Manage student employee hiring and timecard approval processes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus one to three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of office management procedures and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree plus one to three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Geographic information systems (GIS) skills in ArcGIS.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position, scheduled for 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will work on campus and participate in the academic and intellectual life of the university.
