Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and design transportation design and planning solutions using knowledge of civil, transportation, and traffic engineering principles.
  • Prepare traffic studies, signal timing plans, operations analyses, microsimulation modeling, and technical reports.
  • Prepare project plans and drawings for various projects, including traffic signal design and intersection improvements.
  • Conduct research, obtain traffic data for studies, prepare calculations, and perform transportation analyses.
  • Collaborate with project teams and manage project budgets and schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas or ability to obtain within one year required.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience required.
  • Basic experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM, and TRANSCAD required.
  • Familiarity with concepts and standards of the MUTCD, HCM, and AASHTO Geometric Design.
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications and design a plus.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate within a project team setting.
  • Self-directed and ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Solid time and budget management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
