Palliative Care Physician Assistant

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Palliative Care Physician Assistant to join our team. As a licensed, certified, non-physician healthcare provider, you will actively render direct patient care and possess delegated prescriptive authority.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' physical and mental conditions through comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs.
- Prescribe, recommend, and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, and professional practice guidelines.
- Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health illnesses/conditions, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Maintain appropriate records detailing patients' treatment plans and outcomes.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
