Golden Triangle Animal Hospital is a leading veterinary care provider seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry patients.
Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals, including kennel areas, runs, treatment areas, and outside grounds.
- Feed and care for hospitalized animals and boarders, ensuring their nutritional and emotional needs are met.
- Monitor and record important information about animal conditions, behavior, and habits, including elimination, eating, and exercise.
- Walk animals three times a day to promote physical activity and socialization.
- Notify veterinarians or veterinary technicians of unusual medical or behavioral problems.
- Clean treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and sanitation.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with restraint and treatment of animals, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and maintain kennel inventory, including food, cleaning supplies, and laundry supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the clinic and provide exceptional care to clients and their pets.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stressful situations.
- Physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Previous experience as a kennel assistant or in a related field.
