We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Technician Specialist to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a vital member of our operations, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet.

Job Summary:

The Heavy Duty Diesel Technician Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other equipment. This includes completing routine inspections, identifying and addressing potential issues, and ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy before they hit the highway.

About the Role:

  • Performs preventative maintenance on company fleet diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and convertor dollies
  • Identifies root causes of basic failures and conditions and performs necessary repairs under minimal supervision
  • Ensures equipment meets compliance standards and is licensed and registered before being deemed roadworthy
  • Maintains accurate documentation of work orders and preventative maintenance through our online Enterprise Asset Management system
  • Installs, replaces, and repairs onboard computers and inspects brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components
  • Trains and guides other Mechanics as needed

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
